Randy and Michelle Hettinga

In 1995, Randy was lucky enough to meet and marry Michelle. Randy and Michelle both possess a strong work ethic from agricultural upbringings. Since 2001, they have worked together to make Professional Hoof Trimming the successful company that it is today. While Randy takes care of the cows, Michelle handles all the administrative duties. This teamwork creates an efficient company that is a pleasure to do business with.

Randy

Randy was born and raised in the dairy industry in Chino, California, where he grew up on his family’s dairy. After the sale of their dairy in 1984, he began working part-time on neighboring dairies while attending high school. After high school and throughout college, his work on dairies continued. Randy earned his Associate’s Degree in automotive and diesel technology but soon realized his true passion was working with cows. In 1992 he moved to Idaho and worked as a herdsman at a dairy in southern Idaho. In the ensuing 10 years, he worked in every capacity of dairy life, moving his way up to dairy management.

In 2001 he had the opportunity to apprentice as a hoof health professional and purchased a hoof trimming business. From then on, his focus and passion have been dairy cattle hoof care. He continues to network with industry professionals such as veterinarians, nutritionists, dairy owners, dairy managers, professors, and dairy farm workers to stay current in his field. His experience and knowledge of dairy cattle hoof health is valuable to any dairy operation.

The Hettinga Family

Randy and Michelle have been blessed with three lovely daughters, and spending time with the girls is one of the things they enjoy the most. One of their favorite family activities is exploring the desert back roads of Idaho and Oregon in their Suzuki Samurai. They also enjoy camping, kayaking, fishing, and riding their bicycles. But their favorite place to be is in the stands of high school sporting events cheering for their girls.
